Huawei Introduces New Solutions for AI Data Centers at MWC Barcelona 2026
During Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026, Huawei introduced new products and solutions related to AI Data Centers (AI DC). They were announced at a special session dedicated to innovations in this field and are aimed at supporting organizations in their digital and intelligent transformation.
Among the new announcements are the Huawei AI Data Platform and the upgraded Xinghe AI Fabric 2.0 solution, which aim to improve the performance of AI infrastructure and facilitate the deployment of intelligent applications. The event, held under the theme “Leading AI DC Innovation, Winning the Intelligent Future,” brought together industry representatives and experts to discuss trends in the development of AI data centers and best practices for building them.
AI Data Centers as the Foundation of the Intelligent Economy
According to Huawei representatives, the focus of development in the field of artificial intelligence is gradually shifting from the models themselves to AI agents that automate and manage complex processes. In this context, AI data centers are becoming key infrastructure for processing and managing massive volumes of data.
Huawei presented a comprehensive AI DC architecture that combines several core technological components – computing resources, storage systems, network infrastructure, AI platforms, large language models, and the data centers themselves. By integrating these technologies, the company aims to offer an open, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure for organizations building AI systems.
According to company experts, the adoption of AI in enterprises is increasingly characterized by two trends – the use of agentic AI with multiple models and the training of models specialized for specific industries. This leads to a sharp increase in the need for computing resources, meaning that organizations must build infrastructure capable of handling tenfold or even hundredfold increases in computational workloads.
To meet these requirements, Huawei is developing infrastructure for AI data centers based on five key technological principles:
- SuperPoDs for scalable AI infrastructures
- synergy between computing and networking
- synergy between computing and data storage
- integration between computing resources and cloud platforms
- intelligent management of computing infrastructure
Huawei AI Data Platform Accelerates the Deployment of AI Applications
During the event, Huawei also introduced the Huawei AI Data Platform – a new platform designed to optimize the use of data in AI applications.
It combines three key technologies:
- knowledge generation and retrieval
- memory extraction and management
- AI inference acceleration through Unified Cache Manager (UCM)
The platform is designed to support AI agents in enterprise environments by addressing some of the main challenges in AI systems – inefficient use of knowledge, limited memory capabilities, and slower inference operations.
Xinghe AI Fabric 2.0 for Greater Computing Performance
Huawei also introduced the new version of its networking architecture, Xinghe AI Fabric 2.0, designed for AI data centers. The solution aims to ensure maximum utilization of computing resources and continuous service availability, which is particularly important for AI workloads.
Real Examples of AI Data Center Implementations
During the event, practical examples of the use of AI infrastructure in different industries were also presented.
Representatives of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of Macao explained how AI data centers support the digital transformation of Macao. The region is gradually transitioning from an economy mainly dependent on tourism to a “1+4” model aimed at greater economic diversification. AI infrastructure is used to develop key sectors such as tourism, technology, education, and public services.
An example of the use of AI infrastructure in the academic sector was presented by CzestMAN. The university uses Huawei’s all-flash storage solutions to support scientific research, which leads to improved efficiency in research work, education, and the management of academic processes.
In the banking sector, Access Bank presented its experience in modernizing data center infrastructure. After a series of mergers and acquisitions, the bank had a complex network architecture that was optimized by implementing Huawei’s Xinghe AI Ultra-Resilient Fabric Solution. This enables the creation of a more resilient data center network infrastructure with intelligent support and management.
AI Infrastructure as the Foundation for Future Development
The development of AI technologies is increasing the need for scalable computing infrastructure. Huawei states that it will continue to invest in technological innovation and partnerships with organizations worldwide to support the development of a solid foundation for AI computing.
The goal is to turn every unit of computing power into real intelligent productivity that supports business growth and the development of the digital economy.
