HPE Unveils First Integrated Product Following Juniper Acquisition – Wi-Fi 7 Access Point with AI-Driven Autonomous Operations
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) introduced the new Wi-Fi 7 access point HPE Networking 723H, which is the first integrated product following the acquisition of Juniper Networks. According to information from The Register, the device is aimed at environments such as hotels, branch offices, and work-from-home infrastructures.
The new solution is offered as a cloud-based service and can be managed through both the Aruba Central platform and Mist, demonstrating early integration between HPE and Juniper technologies.
AI-based autonomous operations
During the presentation, Mital Parekh, Head of Marketing for Campus and Branch Networking at HPE, demonstrated several scenarios for autonomous network operation based on AI.
One of the key features is dynamic capacity optimization. The system analyzes the radio frequency environment around the device and automatically avoids frequencies that are prioritized for military and other specialized communications. In addition, the solution can detect user density during large events, such as corporate meetings, and automatically reconfigure the network to maintain connection quality.
HPE also introduced an automated recovery feature that detects issues such as missing or incorrectly configured VLAN settings and adjusts the network before traffic disruptions occur. The system can also automatically detect and block unauthorized DHCP servers.
According to Parekh, these are tasks currently performed manually by IT teams, but the goal is for organizations to increasingly rely on autonomous network functions and redirect resources toward more critical activities.
Early results from Juniper integration
Jeff Aaron, Head of Marketing in HPE’s networking division, highlighted that the company managed to deliver an integrated product just a few months after completing the acquisition of Juniper. He compared this to the integration between Cisco’s Wi-Fi solutions and Meraki, which, according to him, took years.
Focus on AI and cloud management
With the new HPE Networking 723H, the company continues to advance its strategy for AI-driven network management and cloud operations. The combination of Wi-Fi 7, autonomous capabilities, and integration with the Mist platform demonstrates HPE’s ambition to deliver more intelligent and automated networking environments for enterprise customers.
