Huawei Deploys SMART Education Solution in Schools in Seychelles

26/03/2026

Huawei’s SMART Education solution has now been deployed in schools in Seychelles, providing students and teachers with opportunities for interactive learning, real-time assessment, and a new level of remote education.

The project was officially announced on August 30, 2025, by the Seychelles Ministry of Education, in partnership with Cable & Wireless and Huawei. As part of the initiative, the solution has been implemented in four secondary schools, which is seen as an important step toward modernizing the education system through technology.

Focus on digital skills and AI

According to John Lesperance, Principal Secretary at the Seychelles Ministry of Education, the main goal is to prepare students for the digital future. The vision includes building skills for working with modern technologies and adapting to the growing role of artificial intelligence in everyday life.

The institution’s ambition is to develop the education system so that every student can confidently use digital tools and benefit from the new opportunities that technology provides.

Partnership with Huawei

The collaboration between the Ministry and Huawei began about two years ago, with the company actively participating in the development and implementation of the solution. Thanks to its experience as a global provider of ICT technologies, Huawei offers a solution tailored to the needs of the local education system and the long-term goals of the reform.

The SMART Education platform enables:

  • teaching through multimedia content
  • easier management of the learning process
  • real-time student assessment
  • personalized learning with instant feedback
  • centralized management and analysis of school-level results

Smart campuses and remote learning

The solution supports the development of so-called smart campuses, which include capabilities for remote learning through the Huawei IdeaHub device. This enables learning anytime and from anywhere while improving the quality and effectiveness of e-learning.

The platform also facilitates communication and collaboration between teachers and students by providing an intuitive working environment. According to Ministry representatives, the implementation was carried out smoothly and without difficulties, thanks to the easy-to-use interface.

An additional advantage is that Huawei has a local presence in Seychelles, ensuring faster technical support and more reliable project implementation.

Plans for future development

In the future, SMART Education is expected to expand with more advanced AI functionalities to further enhance the learning process. The goal is for students in Seychelles to have access to modern technologies and to be competitive on a global level.

Huawei is expected to continue introducing innovations in education by providing new solutions that support the development of digital skills and the modernization of the learning process.
