Ubiquiti Introduces UniFi Network 10.2 with Time Machine Feature and New Diagnostic Tools
Ubiquiti Networks announced the new UniFi Network 10.2 version, introducing a number of improvements in network management and diagnostics. Among the most important innovations are the “Time Machine for Switches” feature, as well as a new infrastructure visualization tool through a so-called “digital twin.”
Time Machine for Tracking Network Issues
The main new feature in UniFi Network 10.2 is Time Machine, which enables visual tracking of network changes through a timeline. Similar to the Time Machine feature in Apple products, the tool shows how port states have changed over time.
This makes it easier to:
- monitor changes in network ports
- identify issues caused by configuration changes
- troubleshoot switch errors more quickly
According to information from the release logs, the feature covers the last 24 hours, allowing retrospective analysis of issues.
Digital Twin for Better Visualization
Another new feature is the so-called digital twin, which represents a virtual copy of the physical network configuration. This makes it easier to understand the infrastructure and supports troubleshooting, especially during large-scale network outages.
The solution is designed to provide clear visualization even in more complex environments with multiple rack systems.
Indirect Comment on Sonos
In presenting the new version, Ubiquiti also included an indirect reference to Sonos by demonstrating a network issue related to a Sonos device. This has been positively received by part of the user community, as such issues between the two ecosystems are well known.
Compatibility issues between Ubiquiti and Sonos solutions are not new and have previously led users to make changes to their hardware configurations.
Hardware Solutions and MWC 2026
There are also suggestions that Ubiquiti has developed devices such as the Ubiquiti Poweramp as an alternative to Sonos products. The device was showcased during Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026, along with new solutions such as network rack systems and the U7 Mesh model.
Although Poweramp appears outside the company’s core portfolio, its presence highlights Ubiquiti’s ambition to expand its ecosystem beyond traditional networking products.
