Huawei Launches SingleRAN 22.1 for the Mobile AI Era

11/09/2026

Huawei has introduced SingleRAN 22.1, the first commercial software release developed specifically for the Mobile AI era. The solution is designed to provide a multi-dimensional network foundation for operators and support the large-scale adoption of mobile artificial intelligence technologies.

SingleRAN 22.1 includes six key technologies – GigaUplink, GigaBand, iBeam 3.0, IDEA, “0 Bit 0 Watt 0 Loss” and RANSpirit. The release is also the first to support Huawei’s new-generation UBBPi baseband boards, combining advanced algorithms with baseband technologies to provide network capabilities designed to meet the growing demand for Mobile AI services.

SingleRAN 22.1 has already met all General Availability criteria and is currently in commercial use with 35 operators across 23 countries.

GigaUplink enhances uplink capabilities through a combination of FDD 8T8R and Massive MIMO hardware, together with intelligent multi-layer uplink reception and enhanced uplink CoMP to reduce interference. In live network testing, the technology delivered more than a 30% increase in uplink throughput and ubiquitous uplink speeds of 20 Mbps.

GigaBand pools FDD spectrum, allowing 4G and 5G to share an ultra-wide carrier. Intelligent scheduling across time, frequency, space, and power enables 5G to reuse 4G spectrum, delivering up to 1.2 times better 5G user experience without impacting the 4G experience.

iBeam 3.0 combines channel conditions with real-time scheduling and extends high-precision network management from the control plane to the user plane. Live network validation recorded more than a 15% improvement in downlink speeds compared with iBeam 1.0 and iBeam 2.0.

IDEA provides flexible rate management for different user and service groups, helping ensure priority access for high-value users. Dynamic slicing enables more accurate resource estimation and allows RB resources to be reserved for VIP users to maintain stable target speeds.

The “0 Bit 0 Watt 0 Loss” technology uses intelligent dormancy mechanisms to extend energy-saving periods while maintaining user experience. Networks can also wake from dormant states within seconds. Live network validation showed that the technology can reduce energy consumption by more than 10%.

RANSpirit combines a telecom foundation model with a RAN Digital Twin System to enable intelligent intent-driven resource management for users and services. The goal is to help operators move from manual network operation and maintenance toward autonomous network operations, while improving user experience, intelligent network management, and energy efficiency.

According to He Yunru, Vice President of Huawei Wireless Network Solution, SingleRAN 22.1 transforms mobile network capabilities and prepares them for the new Mobile AI era. Huawei describes the release as a foundation for networks capable of supporting trillions of AI agents, creating new opportunities in the token-driven economy and supporting the development of the Agentverse.
