ASAP created software product "Virtual Farming"

11/04/2023

Sofia, Bulgaria, 11th of April 2023

A leading software development company, ASAP, has created a new software product "Virtual Farming" for the Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen. In this specialized software program, agricultural activities are simulated throughout the year including pest appearances, consideration of weather conditions that favor their appearance, selection, and implementation of pest control measures. Through the system, users can monitor the development of a cultivated plant of their choice over the course of the year, as weeds, diseases, insects, and other events are recorded. "Virtual Farming" allows the user to react to the problem and decide what to do to fix the problem. After that, the result of the measures taken can be followed - whether they helped to solve the case or, on the contrary, led to its deepening.

„For us, creating the Virtual Farm is a very interesting project. By integrating this specialized software product, we were able to enhance the learning experience at The University of Shumen“, shared by the "Software Development" department at ASAP.

This software product was developed as a part of Project No. BG05M2OP001-2.016-0022 "Modernization of higher education for sustainable use of natural resources in Bulgaria," which is co-financed by the European Union through the European structural and investment funds as part of priority axis 2 of the Operational Program "Science and education for intelligent growth" 2014-2020.
