ASAP Strengthens the Security of Key NEK Dam Facilities with Modern Video Surveillance Systems

ASAP has successfully implemented two strategic projects for the deployment of state-of-the-art video surveillance systems at the Kardzhali and Vacha dam facilities—sites of critical importance to Bulgaria’s national energy infrastructure. The projects were delivered for the National Electric Company (NEK EAD) and form part of ongoing efforts to modernize operations, enhance security, and improve effective control in the operation of hydropower facilities.

The implemented solutions provide 24/7 video monitoring, centralized system management, and reliable video data archiving, enabling rapid incident response, prevention of unauthorized access, and a higher level of operational security. The systems cover key areas of the facilities, including dam crests, internal premises and galleries, operational and service buildings, and the surrounding infrastructure.

The solutions were designed and deployed in accordance with the specific characteristics of the sites and their operating conditions, fully complying with all applicable regulatory requirements, modern video surveillance standards, and occupational health and safety regulations. High-technology equipment was used to ensure reliability, system continuity, and long-term effectiveness of the security solutions.
