Are you tired from the endless search for the files, which you have recently worked on, but still can’t find and attached them to your e-mail? Are you tired from searching through your received e-mails trying to find some shared links? In the latest version of Outlook 2016 it is much easier and accessible to work with attached files. You can prevent your “headaches”, coming from searching and sharing files, no matter if you work on your desktop computer, smartphone or tablet. Next time when you decide to attach a file to your new e-mail message, the first thing you will notice in the menu of the new Outlook 2016 is the list with the recently used documents, under the menu option Recent Items. This list contains files not only from your local hard drive, but also those that you use in OneDrive, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint. So you will be able easily to find the files, that you have worked on, from all your devices.

If you still do not find what you are looking for in the list Recent Items, you can use the new and easy navigation in OneDrive, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint. Just choose the option Browse Web Locations. If you need to find other files, saved on your local hard drive, choose Browse this PC, and you will see a window of File Explorer.

When you choose to share a file, located on OneDrive, OneDrive for Business or SharePoint, Outlook will show you what rights for use you have set for the recipients of those files. Of course, you will be able to change those settings or to attach the file anyway – and all this, without the need to go physically to the place, where the file is saved.

When you send your e-mail message, Outlook will do the necessary every recipient to get the proper rights for reviewing the file. In addition to all these, as all used links from OneDrive, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint are visible in the list with your other attached files, you will be able to search them the same way you do with the attached files. These new features for working with files are already available in Outlook 2016 on Windows devices, and soon will be also available for Office 365 users. The best way to be always in pace with the Office novelties and new features is to use Office 365. If you are interested to install Office 365 in your organization, ASAPIT is at your disposal to help.
